Blabjorg Cliff (Blábjörg)
Blabjorg Cliff (Blábjörg)
Blabjorg cliffs are a national monument on the north shore of Berufjordur. Meaning 'blue cliffs', though actually more green than blue, the cliffs are formed of Berufjordur acid tuff, an ignimbrite of welded ash from an explosive rhyolite eruption.
Visitors can park by the cliff and walk down to the beach, which is littered with fragments of this attractive rock.
Just remember though that it is a protected site, so you can't take pieces away with you!
