At the Bobby Fischer Center, you can find items related to the great chess genius Bobby Fischer on display.
He became the World Champion in Reykjavik 1972 when he won the Soviet champion Boris Spassky in “The Game of the Century”.
In his later years, he settled in Iceland and a few hundred meters away from the Center, you can visit his grave, located at the Laugardaelir cemetery.
The Center is also a clubhouse for the local chess clubs and offers lectures about the chess game and other related matters.
Opening Hours: May 15th–September 15th, 2016: 1 pm until 4 pm Admission: Adults: ISK 1000, free for 14 years and younger.
