Fuglabjarganes Bird Cliffs

Fuglabjarganes Bird Cliffs

If you're interested in wildlife, then the name Fuglabjarganes should give you a clue as to what is in store on this walk - it means 'bird cliff peninsula'.

The peninsula and cliffs are sited on the coast north of Vopnafjordur but they're not accessible by vehicle. There is a 6km circular footpath that will take you down to the cliffs and back.  This is great way to get out into nature and you may well have the place to yourself!

Park your vehicle by the Fuglabjargara river and pick up the trail from there. As well as seabirds, look for waders and ducks along the way.
