Museum of Icelandic Sorcery & Witchcraft
The West Fjords area is renowned for its magic and sorcery. In the 17th century an unusually high number of people in this area were accused of sorcery and if convicted, were burned to death.
As you walk around the exhibits in the museum, you'll learn about the many ghosts and strange beings that are thought to haunt the area and see a rather strange pair of ‘skin-tight’ trousers; these ‘necropants’ belong to a 17th century sorcerer, who gave permission for his skin to be used for ‘magical’ clothing.
It's a slightly macabre but culturally fascinating exhibition.
