Saeluhus, Refuge, By Jokulsa A Fjollum

The river Jokulsa á Fjollum, was a great hindrance in past centuries. It was not considered possible to cross on horseback, but there were ferries at the most popular crossings.

The refuge was built around 1880 from stone. The house was said to be haunted by an animal the size of a year old calf, with thick fur.
