A jagged row of ancient volcanic plugs dominates Berufjordur’s skyline. On the northern shore of the fjord, look for Blabjorg the blue-green sea cliffs.
The protected cliffs are visible from road 1 but for a better view park the car and take the short walk down the slope to the beach.
The cliffs are of made of ignimbrite, formed during an explosive volcanic rhyolite eruption.
Fragments of the soft easily eroded rock litter the shoreline here.
