Bordeyri (Borðeyri) - a little Coffee Stop

Bordeyri (Bordeyri) is one of the tiniest villages in Iceland. Formerly a center of commerce and an army base during WWII, the population is now just 30. Riishús, one of several restored houses in this coastal hamlet is the oldest merchant house in the country. During the summer months, local ‘ladies’ run an old fashioned cafe, which is well worth a visit.
