Foss a Sidu (Foss á Síðu) Waterfall
Foss a Sidu (Foss á Síðu) Waterfall
The farm Foss á Sidu is backed by cliffs, over which tumbles a rather lovely waterfall, known modestly as 'Foss', which most visitors know means waterfall.
You can draw off the road into a layby here to take a picture.
Along the south coast, you will notice former sea cliffs such as these, which were left high and dry when the land rose in response to the final meeting of the Ice Age icecaps around 10,000 years ago.
Geographers call this isostatic rebound.
