Grenivik (Grenivík) Village
Grenivik (Grenivík) Village
This scenic village is a little off the beaten track, but worth a visit for its majestic mountains and unrivaled fjord views.
The locals mostly work in the village’s thriving fishing industry. Take a walk along the harbor wall or among the well-kept houses and see the beautiful church.
The village has a grocery shop, swimming pool, cafe, and a small fisheries museum
North of the village, 1167m Mt Kaldbakur is popular with hikers in summer. From January to May snowcat trips with Kaldbaksferdir haul to the summit of the mountain from where there’s a stunning view – and you can opt to ski or snowboard back down but you’ll need your own equipment.
