Husafell (Húsafell) woodland
An area of extensive natural birch woodland, Husafell is a popular holiday spot for Icelanders.
Artist Pall Guðmundsson lives at Husafell and his facial sculptures are visible in rocks around the local area.
Take the sculpture trail, a short walk starting at the church. On display inside the church, you’ll find his idiophone, a musical instrument similar to a xylophone, played and made by the artist from stones.
At Husafell there’s a restaurant, a small swimming pool, and numerous walking trails.
