Jokulsarlon (Jökulsarlón) hike
Duration: 2 hours (or longer). Difficulty: easy walk along terminal moraines overlooking the lagoon. Interest: the famous iceberg lagoon - icebergs, seals, birds. Start/End: the path starts from the car park west of the bridge at Jokulsarlon.
The path is marked with yellow markers. It weaves along the moraines offering stunning views of the icebergs and the mountains and glaciers behind the lagoon. At various points, you can descend to the shore of the lagoon.
The path continues to Fjallsarlon (around 12km further). Return by the same path and then head for the beach where broken up icebergs stud the shore.
