Silfra snorkeling or diving
Silfra snorkeling or diving
Silfra Fissure in Thingvellir National Park allows you to witness the divergent plates of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge from a different perspective - underwater.
With astonishing underwater visibility of over 100m and a water temperature of 2-4°C year round, you’ll need to be properly equipped but diving or snorkeling here is an experience not to be forgotten.
There are no fish to observe just curious rocks, bright green ‘troll hair’ and different types of algae that create a wonderful array of colors.
Swimming and diving are only permitted as part of an organized excursion.
