Thordarhellir (Þórðar hellir) Cave
On the east side of Reykjaneshyrna is an interesting cave called Þordarhellir. The story goes that a man called Þordur hid there.
He fell in love with a girl from the Little-Avik farm and she came to live with him in the cave.
They had a baby and lived there happily until her father found out where she was and came to collect her and the baby.
He tried to kill Þordur but he managed to fend him off by throwing rocks at him from the cave.
Only accessible in summer.
